Psychologists at Ashton Avenue Clinical Psychology Services currently charge the rate below per consultation (50 minutes) payable at the time of appointment. Pension card rates are also available with some psychologists.

Dr Khan Collins -  $240 per consultation

 

No cost for Department of Veteran Affairs gold card holders if referred by a GP through the DVA program.

Medicare Rebates

 

Medicare provides financial assistance for people diagnosed with mental health difficulties to see a Clinical Psychologist in a private setting. To qualify, you need a referral from a GP or psychiatrist outlining your psychological diagnosis and the treatment required, this is known as a Mental Health Care Plan.

 

You can claim up to 10 sessions of Medicare rebates in a calendar year, with a GP review after 6 sessions. You can also receive rebates for up to 10 group sessions in a calendar year, in addition to your individual treatment.

 

The current Medicare rebate is $137.05.

 

Private Anxilliary Health Rebates

 

Rebates are available for most private health funds and vary from $50 – $130 approximately. Due to the variation in the rebates provided, please contact your health fund concerning your level of cover.
